How Did This Everyday Dad Transform His Life By Losing 160.02 lbs?

Weight loss is a constant battle for most Americans. According to the American Disease Control, obesity in Americans ranges to 100.1 million in adults and 14.7 million in children. That is 41.9% of the adult population and 19.7% of the children population.

With statistics like these, what is it that can push someone to the brink of change?

Erick’s feet felt heavy as he sifted through the sand in the heat to trek the 1/2 mile walk under the blazing sun to the hotel room. The sweat beaded down Erick’s temples under the heat, his two young boys hit breaking point while his wife followed behind the dragging wagon Erick lugged to the hotel.

“I feel like I’m going to have a heart attack,” Erick Novak managed to breathe to wife, Kady, as he paused for a break on the long stretch.

Erick and Kady finally arrived with the kids to the hotel and their energetic boys were ready for round two after what they deemed an overall relaxing ride. Erick was overwhelmed with guilt and shame, feeling he should give them the attention they were craving but the exhaustion engulfed his body. The desire to be a better example to his boys grew as he yearned for more energy. This lifestyle was not only affecting his feeling of falling short as a father but also the realization of how the extra weight was affecting his mental health and wellness.

Returning from their vacation, Erick couldn’t get the situation out of his head. He wanted change. He didn’t want… he needed change.

Remembering the significant changes his wife’s cousin had in losing weight he decided to get some advice. It was all about a program. Not any program, a lifestyle change. The only catch?

Commitment.

By this point Erick was driven to commitment. For himself. For his wife. For his kids.

Erick’s wife’s cousin guided him on how to make a the life changing commitment by following a coaching program he followed. Within this commitment, Erick stopped eating out 5-6 times a week, which not only saved calories but saved them from throwing away close to $2,800 in groceries that were not being eaten. Erick was becoming a changed man and embracing every bit of knowledge as he was taking the journey.

When Erick began the journey he was weighed in at 390 lbs. Now Erick weighs 229.2 lbs at 6’2 ft. The healthiest he has been in years.
