Located in the heart of Hamilton, Ohio is a small business town, continuously building with shops, restaurants, local breweries and more. There is a lot to explore and David and Ashley jumped on board to visit the restaurant Billy Yanks, once my partner, Tony, and I sent pictures raving about the food we ate.
Tony and I arrived first, I felt it was busy for a weekday night but wasn’t surprised as I’ve heard through the grapevine they frequently are. The outside seating had a wait but we had no problems being immediately seated inside. Shortly later David and Ashley arrived.
After the four of us caught up on some conversation with lots of laughter, David informed us he discovered online they were offering a wine special tasting (he took long enough to disclose the information). While Tony and I tried to decide if we’d like to try it, we ultimately passed up on the experience with little preference to what they offered (we prefer dry wines). Ashley was intrigued with the selection and went for the special. However, there was a bump when the bartender informed her they were busier than normal for wine tasting night and the bar ran out of a couple of the wines. Fixing the issue, the bartender comped the wine tasting for Ashley and made up for the out of stock wine with substitutes. I felt the bartender was proactive regarding the unpredictable dileminia and I personally appreciate that in the hospitality industry.
Having the salmon last time (it was delicious), I chose to pick from one of their burgers and substitute the meat for the vegetarian impossible burger along with a side of teriyaki breaded cauliflower. The cauliflower was a unique experience compared to other cauliflower options I’ve had in the past.
