The doorbells ring and I rush to the door swinging it open. The women smiles and I actually manage to spit out a “Thank You,” while grabbing the bag and slamming the door…
One of the worse thing we can do as women is wallow in self loathe because we aren’t treated the way we want to be on the day that centers around love.
But what day is more of a reason to remember how important it is to love yourself?
Here are ten ways you can make yourself feel special this holiday by treating you to the special treatment so much deserved.
Buy yourself flowers!
It may sound cliche’ but no one knows your favorite flower, color and smell better than you!
When you pick out your perfect bouquet, trim the ends of the flower with scissors (fresh water travel = longer life), and if you have more than one vase, separated the bunch into multi vases, short and tall, and place them around the house.
Every time you spot one, it will remind you of how special you are.
Treat Yourself To A Spa Day!
Pamper yourself to a spa treatment. We often say things like, “I need to get my nails done,” or “I’d like to get a massage, I could use one!”
So take your own advice and schedule it!
What perfect way to show yourself some love than penning in that facial you dreamt of, that new hair day you’ve been meaning to try or taking care of those neglected winter feet?
Don’t forget Groupon.com often offers some great deals at your local Spa. (Call ahead to check the spas availably before you purchase your Groupon.)
Have A Galentine’s Day!
No one is able to love you the way your best girl pal(s) do.
Take initiative and schedule or host a Galentine’s day at fun restaurant or your own home.
Surrounding yourself with friends is a definite way to fill your bucket!
PS: buy heart boxes of chocolates and have a guessing game with them.
Take On A Random Act Of Kindness…
Speaking of filling you bucket (aka: heart and soul) what better to make you feel good than to do something for someone else?
Buy the person in line next to you at Starbucks their coffee, or foot the bill to the car behind you whole in a drive thru – you can even smile with a “Happy Valentine’s Day.”
Showing someone else you care, also shows yourself you care.
Treat YourSelf To A Movie Night.
Remember all those movies you keep saying you want to see, but forget about them when you lose track of time?
Well treat yourself to a movie night.
Find at least three movies that you’ve been wanting to see but have not yet done so. (Don’t forget you library let’s you check out movies… for free!)
Order Chinese or Pizza in, pop open a bottle of wine and enjoy your quiet night alone.
Climb In The Bath… Bubble Bath!
Nothing says I love me like finding a zen moments in a bathtub full of bubbles.
Dim the lights, light a candle, turn up your favorite tunes and enjoy a beverage.
Take Yourself Shopping.
Don’t think of it as spending money on yourself. You are inventing in your happiness and rewarding yourself for being special.
Find an awesome new outfit, shoes or treat yourself to a fancy piece of jewelry.
If you are up for showing yourself extra love, schedule your Galentine’s and then you can show of your new finds to the ladies.
Get A Hotel.
Sometimes we don’t have time to travel, but that doesn’t mean you can’t treat yourself and get away from the norm.
Find a hotel close by (but not too close!) that you fancy – indoor pool, workout room, room service, jacuzzi…. and pamper yourself with some R&R.
Take that favorite book you’ve been meaning to read, bing watch your shows that have been neglected or just enjoy quiet.
I’m going to enjoy my DoorDash order of sushi with some fine Cabernet Sauvignon and bing watch some of my tv shows.
My husband joins me if he is some for it… decorating my kitchen table with a card, flowers and wine…
But he respects my special routine since my single days… it’s my reminder that its important to love and treat myself too!
So… make this Valentine’s Day for HER ❣️🌹
I sincerely hope you decide to treat yourself this Valentine because you deserve your own love just as much as everyone else in your life.
Cheers – to Keeping YOU Young, 💝
